About your host Audrey aka Bytegirl
she is an award winning, life-long photographer (received first camera at age 4) and a huge history nerd. She moved back to NYC in 1995 and have been exploring the streets since. 10 years ago She began to notice more and more art making its way into her photos and started to get to know and make friends with many of the artists who work on the streets of NYC. Favorite hobby? Watching paint dry.
What we'll do
From the grand cast-iron maidens in SoHo to the tenements of the Lower East Side, from the bustling streets of Chinatown to the delicious tasty treats found in Little Italy we will dive into the histories and personalities that make these some of the most important neighborhoods in the world. Along the way we will see murals created for The L.I.S.A. Project by internationally-famous street artists and learn about the process and stories behind each piece. Who knows, we might even get lucky and catch an artist at work... Colder weather and even rain won't stop us! We cover a lot of ground so check your forecast and dress comfortably. :)
